Marine Coordination

The Marine Coordinator is usually shore based at a port in proximity to the construction field he/she will:

  • Supply emergency contact details for the Marine Coordination Centre
  • Coordinate vessel activities of various subcontractors and principal contractors
  • Coordinate all marine traffic around the offshore structure and in and out of the offshore construction site,
  • Manage conflicts
  • Control the movement of personnel and equipment
  • To ensure notices to Mariners are promulgated as required and effective channels of communication are in place between all parties including the Marine Mammal Mitigation team, Ports Authority, Client and the fisheries Liaison Officer.
  • Carry out regular drills in order to test the efficacy of the emergency procedures
  • Submit regular reports to the client
